Yamuna Expressway guide

Who governs it, and what that means for you

YEIDA was set up in April 2001 as the Taj Expressway Authority, under the Uttar Pradesh Industrial Area Development Act, 1976, and is now known as the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority. It plans the sectors, allots land, and prepares the master and zonal plans.

For a buyer this has three practical effects. Authority plots are allotted by YEIDA through published schemes, usually by draw of lots. Builder projects in the region should carry a UP RERA registration number, which you can check on the UP RERA website. And a plot bought on the resale market still sits on authority land, so the transfer needs to follow YEIDA's rules.
