When buyers say "Yamuna Expressway" they usually mean the planned residential, industrial and institutional sectors that the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has laid out beside the first stretch of the road near Greater Noida, such as Sectors 15C, 18, 20, 22D and 24A, and the area further south around Jewar, where the Noida International Airport has been built.
YEIDA's planned region covers about 25,000 hectares, including the airport site. It is a planned, authority-led market: most plots are allotted by YEIDA through schemes, and builders develop group housing and plotted projects on land they obtain from the authority.
